Transport in Cambodia

How do you travel to Cambodia and which border crossing is best to take? And how do you get around within the country? Below you’ll find the answers to these questions.

International transport

Are you arriving in Cambodia on an international flight? You can choose to fly into Siem Reap or Phnom Penh. At the airport, you can apply for a visa on arrival. Don’t forget to bring at least two passport photos and a valid passport.

Want to enter Cambodia by car or bus? Be aware of the border crossings. There are a total of 16 border crossings, most of which are not commonly used by tourists. Not all border crossings accept an e-visa for travel to and from Cambodia, Laos, or Vietnam.

  Border crossings from Thailand:

The Poipet and Koh Kong border crossings accept an e-visa.

  Border crossing from Vietnam:

The Bavet border crossing accepts an e-visa.

  Border crossing from Laos:

The Dong Kralor border crossing accepts an e-visa.

Domestic transport

Want to explore Cambodia in a unique way? You can rent a tuk-tuk through https://tuktukrental.com/. They provide the tuk-tuk and all the necessary documents for you. During the booking process, you can also add optional extras, such as a music speaker.

The rental price of a tuk-tuk ranges from €10 to €20 per day, depending on the type of tuk-tuk you choose.

Be Aware: An international driving license is required.

To travel around Cambodia, you can choose from various buses and taxis, which can be booked via https://12go.asia/. From personal experience, I can say that many bus companies are quite chaotic, except for Giant Ibis (https://www.giantibis.com/), which is better organized.
